Animal Crossing New Horizons Flick
I love all bugs and their appendages! I've been traveling across all the islands looking for my soul bug—the perfect inspiration for my art!
Flick is a chameleon in the Animal Crossing series who debuted in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. His name may be derived from lick, referring to the long tongue of a chameleon. He is the son of Nat, and replaces him as the host of the Bug-Off, a bug-catching event held every three weeks during the summer. He also appears as a regular visitor to the island.
Flick and C.J. appear to work together, with C.J. referring to him as his partner, mentioning that they live together, and implying he commissions him to create the fish models for the player.

Unlike his father Nat, Flick is a red chameleon with three small/tiny yellow horns (two on his forehead and one on his nose), four spikes on the back of his head, small/short reddish-brown eyebrows, light-red circle spots on the center of his head, and a rolled-up tail with orangish-red and reddish-purple stripes. His big round half-closed eyes have magenta eyelids, white scleras, purple irises, and big dark-purple pupils.
Like his father Nat, Flick loves hosting the Bug-Off, but unlike Nat, who views bugs as food, he views them as his artistic muse, displaying an obsession with their perceived beauty on both a physical and metaphysical level. This has led to disagreements between the two about the treatment of insects.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Flick appears on random weekdays after the Resident Services have been upgraded to a building. Flick offers to buy bugs from the player at a price 1.5x higher than Nook's Cranny price. He leaves at 5 AM the following day. Once per visit, the player can commission him to make a model of a bug, which requires giving Flick three specimen of the same bug. He will mail the model the following day.

Unlike C.J., whose fish models are mostly uniform in size barring a few particularly lengthy fish (e.g. the Arapaima and Oarfish), Flick will build exceptionally large models for the Queen Alexandra's Birdwing, Banded Dragonfly, Goliath Beetle, Horned Hercules, Atlas Moth, and Giraffe Stag, each given the Grand prefix in their item names. Additionally, Flick will provide special dialogue when asked to craft models of these bugs, giving flowery and praise-filled descriptions of them before vowing to make a masterpiece out of their models.
Flick can also visit The Roost if his amiibo card is scanned at the amiibo phone; he brings C.J. as a guest and vice versa. If the player scans his amiibo card in Happy Home Paradise, he will also bring along C.J. to his vacation home.
Flick was added to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp in November 2020. He hosts the Flick's Segmented Soulmates event, where he tasks the player with catching bugs to receive bug-themed prizes, such as the butterfly-exhibit fountain.

Upon interacting with Flick, he will say something relating to bugs before apologizing for thinking out loud. This dialogue will change every time the player interacts with him.Flick is a newcomer to the Animal Crossing series and while you can’t have him as a permanent villager, Flick has still become a popular character alongside his partner CJ. When he comes around the island, players usually flock to him in order to get a chance to earn a lot of bells.
Flick has been seen to have a strong affection for bugs and critters so much that he seems to have based his whole life around them. He believes that each species has their own personality and quirks, with him eager to get them from the player’s inventory. He loves to study them and also makes sculptures of any and all bugs.
Flick is also roommates with CJ, an otter who acts very similar, in game, to Flick. As they are both business partners and roommates, the two talk about, and to, each other quite often, though mostly on good terms.

Flick is a chameleon and while he does have the ability to change into any color, he seems to be happy with his mostly red look. He has spots and stripes along his body with yellow horns and purple eyes. Flick can be seen wearing a biker jacket with plaid pants and is always seen carrying a net with him. That also happens to be black and adorned with spikes, a nod to his look.
While he may not be able to be a permanent resident, Flick is able to visit your village once a week, depending on if your island has a town hall. One you visit him, Flick will offer to buy any and all bugs that you have in your inventory for double the price. Because of this, many players save the rare bugs that they catch and wait for Flick to come to sell them at a profit. Aside from buying bugs, Flick will also offer to make sculptures of any bug, so long as you have three of them in your inventory.
Every once in a while Flick will host a bug off, where the more bugs you catch in a time limit, the more rewards you will earn. The event lasts only for a day and the rewards are exclusive to the event, so if you miss out you will not be able to get the items until the next bug off. Because of this, players, who are interested, keep a close eye on upcoming bug off dates.
