Working Anime Personajes
I’m back! This time I’m writing about Working!!’s characters. I’m just gonna focus on the plot and main characters like the one I did with “Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou” (which I’ll make a second post of sometime soon).
The plot is mainly about the workers of Wagnaria family restaurant. But, they’re not your average workers! Each character has his/her own personality which makes every episode exciting. In some episodes, the lives of some characters are also tackled. This anime has lots of funny twists and turns that can make you laugh your bunbuns off. The genre is mostly comedy, Slice of life and a spoonful of romance.
The main character is Takanashi Souta! His main personality is his “passion for cute things” (which his co-workers think of as odd, well it is). This passion of his led him into the restaurant because of Popura recruiting him. At first, he thought Popura was an elememtary student (yes, she’s that small). He sees Popura as a little sister and the only reason to work at the restaurant. This changed after having shared a special bond between his co-workers. He has three older sisters (Kazue, Izumi and Kozue) and an elementary school sister (Nazuna) which is as tall as him . He used to cross-dress when he was a child (a fact Hiroomi used to blackmail him). He’s got at fighting though he can’t defend himself against Mahiru. This is due to the fact that his sisters taught him not to hit girls. He cross-dressed as Kotori (小鳥) from the surname Takanashi (小鳥遊). Here’s a cute picture of Kotori surrounded by roses.
El Rincon De Perpi: Anime Reseña: Working!! (1ª 2ª Temporada)
This is Popura Taneshima, the elementary-looking 16 year old! She’s named after the Poplar tree so she’ll get tall, but nah, genetics messed up her height. The costumers in Wagnaria often ask; “What is an elementary student doing here?”. She’s overly affected by people calling her small. Jun teases her and messes her hair whenever things get rough with his his love life. Popura is not aware of the fact that it is the reason for Jun’s constant teasing. Instead of “Takanashi”, she calls Souta “Katanashi” even if she’s corrected many times. She wears shoes that make her seem taller (the thing Hiroomi used to blackmail her).
Mahiru is a 17 year old girl with androphobia (the fear of men). This fear is caused by his father, which resulted in her hitting guys whenever they get near her. Souta is often his subject for punching. She’s shy and inexpressive, but likes Souta a lot. She wears different hairpins everyday because Souta complimented that her hairpin looks cute. Even so, she still punches Souta who eventually helped in reducing his androphobia. Nazuna thinks she and Souta are dating. She liked Souta more after she cross-dresses as Kotori in confronting his father. She also possesses blush-feature in both of her cheeks even when she’s not embarrassed. She studies in an all-girl school but still can’t understand some lessons just because the subject teacher is male. She’s very good at serving female costumers and awfully bad at male costumers.
This is Yachiyo Todoroki, the chief of staff of Wagnaria. She wears a smile on her face that unlike Hiroomi’s is not fake. She wears a katana in her waist because her family specializes blacksmith. She’s a really naive person. She doesn’t know that Jun has a long-lived admiration for her, and she can’t comprehend that the costumers and her co-workers are intimidated by her katana. She has an admiration for Kyoko which developed when she saved her a bully when she was young. She always makes parfaits for Kyoko and gets mad at people who gives her food (Usually Mr.Otoo). Sometimes, when she talks, pink flowers appear around her just like Popura.
Satou Jun (cosplay)
Hiroomi Souma is a chef that works for the restaurant. He’s shown as lazy and makes people do his jobs by blackmailing them. Like Yachiyo, he often wears a smile on his face. (Truth is, he’s my favorite character so far). He’s terrified of Mahiru because of her punches, so he can’t blackmail her. Instead she talks with Mahiru over the phone whenever she don’t know what to do with his affection for Souta. It is shown that he can’t blackmail Jun because he will hit him. >.< He's weakness is crying girls which is known because of Aoi. In some cases, he has black and white sparkles around him when he blackmails people.
Jun Satou is also a chef in Wagnaria. He is in-love with Yachiyo. He’s main problem is that Yachiyo admires Kyoko a lot (this covers up all his attempts on Yachiyo, poor him). For short, Yachiyo friendzoned him (Let us give him a moment of sympathy *A*). He’s also afraid of Mahiru hitting him. He’s very sensitive about his feelings for Yachiyo and doesn’t like interacting with costumers. Unlike the typical boy-in-love, he doesn’t blush; instead it seems that depression hit him whenever Yachiyo is around. He takes out all of his anger at Popura by teasing her and messing her hair in weird hairstyles. Jun is also seen to smoke cigarettes oftentimes at his breaks.
This Kyoko Shirafuji, the manager of Waganaria. Kyoko is a deliquent and has many people working for her. She’s rather apathetic and uses violence against rude costumers. She likes eating (Yachiyo’s parfaits and Mr. Otoo’s souvenirs) and doesn’t really have much work to do at the restaurant. She’s 28 years old and hates being called old. When Souta called her old, she punished him by having long constant shifts. When she met the young Yachiyo, she demanded food as payment for rescuing her.
El Refugio Del Dragón De Tierra: Febrero 2013
This is Aoi Yamada, the girl Mr. Otoo found while searching for his lost wife. She has a mysterious character since not much is said about her background or where she came from. She lies about herself, for example; proclaiming she’s 16, and that her last name is Yamada. When she arrived at Wagnaria she carries a luxury suitcase and she’s also terrible at work. Souta suspects she’s from a rich family. She now lives at the attic of Wagnaria. Aoi seems to be an attention-craving person and desires a perfect family (which includes Mr. Otoo as the father). She wants Otoo to adopt her and even wants adoption papers as his souvenir next time he comes back. Later in the series, her brother Kirio appears searching for her (But Souma tries not to let them see each other).
Maya Matsumoto is a girl which proclaims herself as “normal”. She thinks her co-workers are rather awkward. Ironically, due to her attempts in living a generally normal life, she becomes weird herself. Jun and Hiroomi once made fun of her by saying stuffs like, “Isn’t that normal?, “Don’t you think that’s just normal?” causing her to break down. (I also like her character although nothing much is said about her.)
This is Hyougo Otoo the head of the restaurant. He’s compared to as “air” by Souta because of his light presence and because he’s trying to convince Mahiru to not hit him. His wife is bad at directions so she got lost while doing errands. He’s constantly not at the restaurant because of his search for his wife. He comes back every now and then to check up on things and bring back souvenirs which reminds him of his wife and many sorts of food (This makes his life is in danger because of Yachiyo being jealous of Kyoko eating the food he gives.)

Oh right I forgot to mention, tomorrow is my birthday so…. a Happy Birthday maybe? Ahaha. Just kidding. (But seriously though, I'd like a chocolate cake with owl decorations.)Due to his love for small, cute things, Souta Takanashi cannot turn childlike Popura Taneshima down when she recruits him to work for Wagnaria, a family restaurant located in Hokkaido. Takanashi takes particular joy in doting on the older Popura, which only fuels her complex over how young she looks. He also quickly learns he must stay on his toes once he meets the rest of his colleagues, including the katana-wielding floor chief Yachiyo Todoroki, the intimidating head chef Jun Satou, the dangerously well-informed and subtly sadistic sous chef Hiroomi Souma, the adamantly lazy manager Kyouko Shirafuji, and the waitress Mahiru Inami who has a painful fear of men.
Powered by an eccentric cast, Working!! is a unique workplace comedy that follows the never-dull happenings within the walls of Wagnaria as Takanashi and his co-workers' quirky personalities combine to create non-stop antics, shenanigans, and hilarity.
