Anime Blue Fox

Blue Fox is a young demi-human with the stature of a child and a large bushy tail befitting his race. His blue hair is thick with a slightly spiky appearance and a pair of pointed fox ears protruding from the top of his head, though they are noticeably short and smaller than those of his mother and sister. Similar to the priestess outfits worn by the females of his family, the male fox-hybrid is always seen dressed in the traditional clothing worn by Shinto Priests. His normal outfit consists of a loose kimono-style jacket with a cord-style belt, sandals, and a pair of white hakama-style pants, while also lacking the ceremonial hat.

While his sister appears timid and demure, Blue Fox usually projects a brave and defiant stance. He is fiercely loyal to his mother, the Grand Priestess who rules over Animania alongside the vaunted Dragonborn, and angrily confronts intruders who dare to set foot in the Divine Realm. Like many of the other demi-humans, the young fox-hybrid displays great pride in his species and sees beings such as humans inferior creatures, once even refusing to show his respect to one in the most dire of situations: When prompted by his mother to thank Hakuto Kunai for saving his life, Blue Fox only claimed the Demon Lord as not... entirely useless for a mere human. The male fox child also has a penchant for dramatic introductions and poses, displaying strong chuunibyou tendencies.

Blue Fox and his sister first appear when Hakuto Kunai attempts to approach the Divine Realm's inner sanctum. Emerging from the shrine, the siblings demand he stay away from their mother while openly deriding his blatantly evil appearance. The fox-hybrids strike a dramatic pose and introduce themselves to the Demon Lord, but he sardonically mocks the duo, prompting them to insult him back. Kunai then asks for information regarding the Ophan and the mysterious temple they call home, but Blue Fox ignores his request, proclaiming his mother is too tired to deal with more intruders due to the recent antics of a certain Devil.

The conversation is interrupted by the High-Class Devil Cale, who enters the temple grounds by tearing a hole in its barrier. The Grand Priestess calls for her children to return to her side, but Blue Fox is assaulted by Cale before he can escape, the devil slicing open his back with a large scythe. Barely clinging to life, the male fox sibling weakly tells his sister to run, but Fire Fox instead tries pulling him towards their mother's shrine. The two are saved by the timely intervention of the Demon Lord, who swiftly defeats their attacker with minimal effort, leaving the villain too injured to fight back.

Laying motionless on the ground, Blue Fox is mourned by his sister and the Grand Priestess, the latter expressing regret that she could not leave the shrine to protect her son. Kunai manages to restore the boy's fading life with a bottle of healing water, but it does nothing to stop the bleeding. The Grand Priestess explains that those wounded by Cale's scythe are cursed, but the Demon Lord uses his admin powers to materialize an ōnusa to weaken the affliction before dispelling it with an Alter of Decursing. After Blue Fox recovers, his mother expresses gratitude for the Demon Lord's help and instructs her children to do the same. Her son averts his gaze before reluctantly claiming Kunai is not... entirely useless for a human. The Demon Lord remains unconvinced by the boy's attempt at humility, before being expelled from the Divine Realm.

As Akane and Mink approach the southern border of Animania, the bizarre duo is intercepted by the children of the Grand Priestess. Akane begins petting the fox-hybrids against their will, scaring Fire Fox while Blue Fox fruitlessly tries to swat away the mysterious intruder. Unable to keep up with her blinding speed, the two children claim their mother could easily stop the intruders if she were not ill. After Akane drops some unsolicited advice about familial relationships, Mink notices the eerie quiet of the vicinity and questions where the other demi-humans are. Blue Fox notes they must be following the orders of Mother's mother, but is stubbornly unwilling to disclose any more information.

The Blue Fox's Quest

Once the humans leave, Blue Fox wonders why the Dragon would have ordered them not to interfere with the Demon Lord. The children voice their misgivings about the situation, but Fire Fox mentions the incident with Cale, the memory of the sadistic devil's humiliation bringing them an amused sense of satisfaction. He then questions whether or not Kunai was truly evil while his sister claims they should provide him with some rice and hot water should he return, both foxes laughing gleefully into the night.

The fox siblings reappear during Hakuto Kunai's second visit to the Divine Realm, greeting him in much the same manner as before. They pose negative comments about his evil face and deny wanting to be his friends, but the Demon Lord shrugs off their insults and materializes a plate of fried tofu as a gift. Blue Fox and his sister try to hide their gratitude behind more harsh words, but are unable to contain their excitement after tasting the dish. Kunai then enters the shrine to meet with the Grand Priestess, stifling his laughter as they enjoy his offering.
