Un giorno però, mentre assume di nuovo il suo ruolo come re dei demoni, la sua noiosa vita da lavoratore ha una fine drastica, perché si ritrova in un mondo completamente nuovo: si ritrova appunto quel mondo virtuale per cui assumeva il ruolo di re dei demoni, come suddetto re dei demoni.
In questo nuovo mondo Akira incontra una ragazza ferita ad una gamba, e buono di cuore come lui è, la porta con se nel suo viaggio in questo mondo fantasy. Ma non riescono a viaggiare in tranquillità per molto tempo, visto che qualcuno che non solo porta il nome di «re dei demoni» ma ne possiede anche i poteri che lo definiscono tale, è un bersaglio popolare.
