Anime Girl Voices Are Annoying

Anime Girl Voices Are Annoying

Cover your ears, things are about to get screechy! Welcome to and today we're counting down our picks for Top 10 Anime Characters with the Most Annoying Voices.

For this list we are looking at anime characters who have unique voices…in the worst possible way. We are not saying that they are bad characters, a lot of the time the voice suits the personality, we are just saying that the voice can be, well, plain irritating.

Why

Cover your ears, things are about to get screechy! Welcome to and today we’re counting down our picks for Top 10 Anime Characters with the Most Annoying Voices.

Japanese Anime: Why Are Characters' Voices High Pitched?

We are going to start this list off on a happy note. Happy is an Exceed, a magical cat that can fly, which comes in handy for his partner in crime, Natsu, when going on quests for their guild, Fairy Tail. As expected of any cute mascot, Happy has a perky, high pitched voice, the only problem is that squeakiness can go from adorable to nails-on-a-chalk-board annoying pretty quickly. Sure it suits the whole talking-cat shtick, but something about it just comes across as a little too Disney. He may be loud, overly optimistic, and energetic, but he is one of the most lovable characters in the anime.

This one may have spoilers, folks. We’re not quite sure who thought that bringing in the Japanese voice actor for Kermit the Frog would be a good choice for this guy. Adachi is the bumbling sidekick to the hardboiled detective and uncle, Ryotaro Dojima. Later revealed to be less-than-innocent, Adachi’s voice goes from annoying to obnoxious. By the end you just want to slap the smirk off his face, and put a muzzle on him. This is one of those cases where the English dub kind of suited it better…even though we had that awkward scene of Johnny Yong Bosch talking to Johnny Yong Bosch…

This next voice balances the line between badass, and just bizarre. Christopher Sabat, who also voiced Vegeta, gives his unique sound to Kawabara, A tall, burly, manly-man, who is also clumsy, and dimwitted. It’s hard to decide whether to love, or hate his voice because it matches his personality so well. It has the deepness you’d expect from a delinquent but it also makes him sound just plain stupid…which isn’t too far from the truth. It suits him, and we wouldn’t have it any other way but come on, it does get a little annoying.

Top 5 Anime Girls With The Sexiest Voices

Kuroko is, well, a bit intense…. There are two things she takes very seriously; her obsession with Misaka, and being a member of the Judgement, which makes her a peacemaker in Academy City. Her voice alternates between deep, and screechy, depending on her mood, and neither one are very pleasant to listen to. She does put her voice to good use though, using it to stand up to the bad guys, keeping the peace, and shouting out her pervy thoughts about Mikito. But, It didn’t really help that we had to sit through her narration in Okami-San.

You might recognize the voice of our next character from Pokémon, since Pikachu, the notoriously squeaky rodent, is voiced by the same actress, Ikue Ôtani. In this mini-series she goes from voicing a cute, electric Pokémon, to the vengeful ghost of Sachiko. Sachiko is trying to seek revenge by murdering others in sinister ways, all the while she has this weird gargling voice that can be a little hard to take seriously at times. And let’s not get started on the crying…

Trebol is gross character overall; he has snot dangling out both of his nostrils, and his voice makes him even more punchable. He may sound and act dumb, but Trebol is actually very powerful character. He is a top officer for the Donquixote Pirates, and he has the power of slime, which really isn’t a surprise. He also doesn’t understand personal boundaries, or maybe he likes to stand close to people so they can see his snot, and hear his nasally voice. There’s pretty much nothing redeemable about this guy, and that laugh will drive you nuts.

Ok Guys I Just Watched A Silent Voice For The First Time Today And Omg This Was A Tear Jerker. Such A Beautiful Story And Kyoani Knocked It Out Of The Park

Mey-Rin has two sides to her: the bad ass sharp-shooter, and the nervous, clumsy maid who can’t seem to do anything right. The original voice of Mey-Rin is fine, but in the Dub she sounds like a screechy Oliver Twist. When she is working as a maid she is always on the verge of having an emotional breakdown, she shrieks, yells, and screams at every mistake she makes, and there are a lot of them. Mey-Rin’s voice is just too bad…and honestly, whose idea was it to hire a bunch of Texans to put on awful British Accents?

Everyone knows this loveable saiyan, and if you’ve only ever watched the English dub, prepare to see a whole new side of Goku. In the Japanese version Goku is voiced by Masako Nozawa, who’s been voicing Goku since the anime first came out. It may seem odd that Goku is played by a woman, but we guess it reflects Goku’s childlike nature. The voice may match the personality, but going super saiyan just doesn’t seem as cool when it’s done in a high pitched squeak. If you grew up with the FUNimation dub, it’s pretty unlikely you’ll enjoy this voice…but at the end of the day, anything’s better than the big green dub…

Naruto Uzumaki, our favourite knuckle-headed ninja, not our favourite voice. If you watched the dub you’ll notice that Naruto’s voice makes him sound like he chain-smokes 8 packs of cigarettes a day. Naruto tends to overcompensate his stupidity, by talking extremely loud. All the time. Sure, it’s similar to his original Japanese voice but the yelling and grunting just gets a little too much at times. Of course we’re still grateful that 4kids never got their hands on this beloved series – they’d probably give him a Brooklyn accent or something.

Mieruko Chan (tv Series 2021)

We’ll have to apologize for putting you through this one. This is when high pitched meets caffeine; Aoi is an enthusiastic teenager that can talk so fast she’ll make your ears bleed. She loves books and is studying to be a librarian, but something tells us that she won’t be the one doing the shushing. Sure, the enthusiasm suits her child-like personality, but this girl’s voice hits the high notes that could make even a chipmunk cringe. Aoi Oribe: book worm, friend, and probably the most annoying voice in anime history.

I Hate The Way Anime Girls Sound In General. No

Arima Kana. I'm surprised when I found out she is voiced by Megumi Han because I've never found her voice annoying before. Maybe just felt forced as the girl in Ore Monogatari!! I prefer she sticks to shota, tomboy or oneesan roles...

The only reason I watched Cowboy Bebop's dub instead of the subs was because of Ed. Her Japanese voice is one of the most grating things I've heard.

Annoying

Pazu's dub voice from Castle in the Sky. The voice cracks and the grunting noises are a strange mix between annoying and hilarious.

Who Are The Most Annoying Anime Girls?

Nazuna Nanakusa's voice singlehandedly ruined Call of the Night for me. I never had any issue with the seiyuu Sora Amamiya, so I blame the director who told her to act that way.

Tanjiro and zenetsu voice actors are just shout as loud as they can.. There is no vocal performances, it's not voice acting or anything.

I wanted to gut punch my soul out of my own body having to listen to Mio Miyamasu from Over the Sky for 95 minutes.

A Common Problem Of Petite Women (source: My Sempai Is Annoying Tv Adaptation)

Shimono Hiro as Zenitsu. Don't get me wrong, he's very talented and I like his role as Tsubaki Sasuke. But as Zenitsu or any other crybaby characters, I just can't stand him.

Anime

For some unknown reason I really don't like Enoki Junya. I don't know if it's his voice that sounds like he always has something stuffed inside his mouth or what. Point is I don't like his voice.

Askeladd, Kobeni (every CSM character sounds annoying in their own ways), the young girl from 86 who can't stop saying Shinei and -ja and ofc conscious Zenitsu.

My Senpai Is Annoying

Haruko from FLCL and every other role her VA was in. taiju and some others from dr stone. the mc from kanata no astra and one of the females, can't remember her name. inosuke and zenitsu.

Also most characters that Lisa Ortiz voices in Pokemon, especially Korrina. Lillie and Iris from Pokemon have annoying english dub voices as well.

I agree with the OP. That character ruined a good portion of
